1. Knowledge- select one character from the movie “Cold Mountain”who has the qualities of a heroine/hero. List the qualities and tell why you think they are heroic.

I believe Ruby was heroic. She helped Ada to go through her hardships when she was suffering. Thanks to Ruby, Ada could overcome the agony of losing her father and waiting for Inman endlessly. 

2. Comprehension- CONSTRUCT a time line that summarizes what happens in the story “Cold Mountain”.

Ada and Inman meets - Civil war began - Inman engaged in war - separation - Ada's dad passed away - Ada lost hopes in her life - Ruby came to help her - Ada works as a farm girl - Inman deserted - Soldiers began to kill deserters - Inman managed to come back - Ada and Inman met - Inman got shot and died.

3. Application- THINK of a situation that occurred to a character in the story “Cold Mountain” and write about how you would have handled the situation differently.

If I was Ada, after losing her dad I would not be sad all the time and lose hopes in my life, but I will try to always think positively and work hard for brighter days.

I would like to meet Ada Monroe as she overcame so much hardship that was hard for a young woman to endure. I would like to talk about it and listen to her stories how she overcame it and get some advices. I would also like to comfort her with what has happened her and become good friends.
